Continuous Improvement Engineer (CIP) – Sioux Falls, SD

Charles F Day & Associates, LLC is now recruiting a Continuous Improvement Engineer (CIP) for their Midwest client. Our client offers top notch pay, benefits, and relocation as necessary.

The CIP Engineer is responsible for studying facility layout, workflow and work methods. Initiate, maintain and improve manufacturing support processes, costs, and controls in the manufacture of products and processes. Lead continuous improvement efforts in all areas of operations.

Duties:

  • Read and interpret policies/procedures, blueprints, routing, SPC charts, etc.
  • Write policies/procedures, cost analysis, status reports and perform VSM.
  • Improve labor utilization by studying work methods, testing modifications, designing new methods and recommending job restructuring.
  • Improve workflow and study process flowcharts, recommend modifications in work flow, work stations and product, develop new procedures, and recommend equipment modifications and purchases.
  • Design and coordinate line layouts, work stations, production aids and set-ups for current and new products.
  • Implement procedures to indentify and analyze waste by studying methods, equipment and operator techniques.
  • Implement work improvement programs by conferring with management and engineering staff.
  • Monitor and manage preventive action request system and its effectiveness.Follow QS-9000 procedures.
  • Complete work improvement projects by providing training and guiding operators and supervisors.


Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Candidate must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver professional presentations to diverse groups.

Education/Experience:  Minimum 1-2 years experience in an engineering role at a manufacturing facility.  BSIE, BSME, BS Manufacturing Engineering or BS Manufacturing Technology/industrial Technology required.
