Operations Manager (Manufacturing) - Sioux Falls, SD
Charles F Day and Associates is now recruiting an Operations Manager, Manufacturing, for their Midwest client.
The Operations Manager provides quality leadership and is responsible for the manufacturing, assembly and on-time delivery of products and systems. This position requires a proactive, strategic thinker who has a record of contributing to the systematic and profitable operation of manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for daily operations; providing leadership, focus and direction to the operations team.
• Responsible for production, mfg-engineering, CIP, maintenance and logistics.
• Responsible for the industrialization and successful launches for all new programs.
• Lead daily production meetings.
• Maximizes efficiency through the design and implementation of improved manufacturing strategies and allocate assets and resources to meet quality, safety,
Cost, delivery, and volume and productivity goals;
• Benchmark and establish performance metrics, collect and report results.
• Develop and monitor and achieve department budgets.
• Responsible for specifying, purchasing and installation of all related capital projects.
• Staff training and development; identify and assist employees with setting and attaining professional and strategic goals.
· Maintain appropriate staff levels, schedules and resources; hire, train and retain highly qualified staff.
· Excellent communications skills are required at all levels, both up and down the chain of command.
• Lead the implementation of a Six Sigma approach to problem solving methodology.
• Drive the development of department/functional tools and methodologies.
• Work cross-functionally on continuous improvement efforts.
• Monitor and evaluate projects, technical development plans, deliverables and results.
• Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement.
• Assure compliance with all federal, state, local and corporate policies, laws, and regulations.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Engineering or related technical field required, and Five plus years experience in operations manufacturing management required.
• Ten or more years in an automotive or Tier 1 Supplier manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of, and experience in, lean manufacturing or Toyota Production System
• (TPS) including deployment preferred.
