Overnight Food Supervisors – NW Iowa

Charles F Day and Associates is now recruiting Overnight Food Supervisors, for their Midwest client.  This position is responsible for day-to-day supervision of assigned teams of employees who perform specific tasks as part of operations in the freezer in a food manufacturing environment. Responsible for communicating expectations, managing accountability and delivering desired results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost.
 

Duties:  Assures employees complete tasks in accordance with relevant company and legislative food safety and food quality requirements. Administers standards of work to ensure employees consistently, safely and effectively perform assigned tasks and responsibilities in accordance with established SOPs/Standard Work and document as required.

Candidate takes ownership of the training and qualification process for all direct reports; optimizes labor schedules to ensure appropriate coverage in support of attainment goals and labor budget. Supports and maintains a continuous improvement culture across assigned work teams; serves as a leader of change. Actively identifies opportunities to optimize cost structure in the areas of materials, scheduling, labor, etc.
 

Additional expectations include taking ownership for the results of the operation from end-to-end by working within assigned team, as well as, across shifts and cross-functionally with departments that impact the desired results of the operation.

Skills:  Safety training, SOPs/Stand Work documents and cost structure

Supervisory Experience: 3 years minimum

Education/Experience:  Bachelors degree and 3 years related experience in food safety and food quality.
